40 medium format colour photos to describe the heart and “soul” of Russia (Dusha). Between 2002 and 2007 Davide Monteleone has traveled across many former Soviet Republics, to tell us about the melancholy, nostalgia, joy and solitude of the Russian people. That famous, intangible and inexplicable soul narrated through the mesh of iconography and poetry, in a series of photographs which are remote and intimate at the same time.

BIO

Born in 1974. He has worked as a photo-reporter since 1998. Over the years his work has been sought by numerous publications by the most prestigious national and international press stretching across widely differing interests. Hi covers news, conflicts and social issues as well as making extensive reportages on countries and people. In 2002 Davide Monteleone move to Moscow. From this experience he begin the project that will sign is professional career and is photographic style.
In 2005 he start collaborating with the Accademia di Francia in Rome. He doesn’t forget the international news and in 2007 he won the World press photo award with his reportage in Lebanon during the war.
From 2001 is a staff Contrasto photographer, one of the most prestigious photo agency.
